_{Yup, I finished the ref for my Spring Unicorn, Flora. A lot of people seem to really like her design, which I honestly am surprised by. Anyway, on to the explanations! XD

Her cutie mark is something that's not seen in Gen 4 of ponies, which is a type which goes down their legs. I figured that since Flora is a bringer of Spring and Life, that the roots to the flowers on her flank would travel down her legs. I was quite happy with it, since the roots of plants travel so deep, but also, family trees have many many roots where it started with one point. So that was kinda my inspiration there.

Her tail was one I had fun with, since a lot of pictures of unicorns(mainly older versions) show them with long hairless tails with a hair at the end of it. With Flora having Celestia's size, I thought it was appropriate. She would not look good with a normal tail anyway.

The eye is self explanatory, but I did a bit of a different type of shading with it, just to try it out. I have to say I really liked it.

Now her body sketch was mainly to show that her mane really does hide the left side of her face and does not flip. I hate having things that flip depending on which side you're on, because then you never see the other side.

Flora used to be a much darker color of yellow, but I made it paler just to test it out and ended up liking it much better. Her mane stayed the same though. I also gave her fluffy parts near her hooves, since I wanted to make them a different color and give her another mark for elegance. And hey, it worked out. XD
